Come and celebrate 10 years of community led restoration of the Macdonald River
The achievements of the Macdonald River community will be celebrated on Saturday the 31st October at St Albans Park (from 11 am to 2pm) acknowledging the contribution of everyone in the valley involved in its restoration over the last ten years.
In this time, the Macdonald Valley Association, with funding from Federal, State and local governments, has assisted local landholders undertake restoration works. Greater Sydney Local Land Services, evolved from the Hawkesbury‐Nepean Catchment Authority, has continued to support this work as has the Hawkesbury City Council.
After countless hours of hard work by the community, the Macdonald River is looking the best it has for many years. It is time to celebrate our efforts. The GSLLS and MVA invite all those interested to come and join in the celebrations.
On the day:
Displays and photographs will showcase the work done over the last 10 years in the valley.
Free native plants (grown from seed from plants in our valley by Council’s Community
Nursery) will be given away,
Demonstrations of the latest techniques used to control False Bamboo will take place
A delicious (free) lunch will be served by the MVA but we need you to advise us that you are coming and BYO refreshments, chairs, shade, family and friends.
Vegetarians need to let us know when you respond to avoid disappointment.
