Cultivating Murder – new documentary

Mehreen Faruqi and the Greens invite you to a special movie screening that will kick-start their campaign to get rid of the Baird Government’s devastating new land clearing laws.

Destructive laws
NSW parliament passed legislation last week that will enable the destruction of native vegetation and wildlife throughout NSW, and endanger precious habitats.

The Greens opposed this legislation and moved 63 amendments to try to improve it. The Liberals, Nationals, Christian Democrats and Shooters & Fishers voted together to block us at every point.

Our task is now to remove the Baird Government, repeal these terrible laws and enact new legislation that protects our precious biodiversity.

Invitation to film screening
Cultivating Murder is a new documentary that tells the story of Glen Turner, a public servant who was murdered while trying to protect the environment from illegal land clearing. You can view a short trailer for the film on Mehreen Faruqi’s facebook page.

There will be two Sydney screenings:
Monday 5th December, 6.30pm – New Law School Annex, University of Sydney
and
Thursday 8th December, 6:30pm – Manly Senior Citizens Club, 275 Pittwater Rd

It’s a powerful story and the filmmakers need support to finish it. So even if you can’t make one of the screenings, you may still like to contribute to their crowd funding campaign.
